Investment Focus & Current Projects

Brendan focuses on investments in companies with defensible technology, particularly in the areas of cloud computing infrastructure for data centers and enterprises, including the full value chain from semiconductor to software applications, as well as sustainability and climate technologies.

Professional Journey

Prior to TransLink, Brendan twice built $100M+ businesses from scratch at MaxLinear (NASDAQ: MXL), initially overseeing marketing, sales, business development, and fundraising (venture investment & IPO process) from pre-revenue to public company. In his second tour at MXL, as Business Unit GM, Brendan built up the 5G radio base station business from concept to a meaningful and highly profitable first foray into the network infrastructure market. Prior to MaxLinear, Brendan spent five years in corporate venture in Silicon Valley at the Japanese mobile technology company, Hikari Tsushin, and subsequently at Philips where he managed US investments for the Dutch conglomerate.

Education

Brendan holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a BA from UC Davis in Japanese History and Language.

Passion

Outside of technology, Brendan enjoys playing soccer, mountain biking, skiing, supporting Arsenal, and embarrassing his children by surfing 2-3 foot waves in a springsuit on a softboard.
